My life began in the south of France. I was born in Nice and raised in the village of Tourrette-Levens. I was surrounded by the captivating beauty of the Mediterranean with all its wildlife and breathtaking scenery. This was the start of my love for nature, so at a very young age I wanted to express this fascination in a physical form, so began to draw.
This led to me trying to figure out proportions, anatomy and movement of the animals that I saw, and throughout this process I began memorising these observations, and later began leading myself away from copying images to drawing from memory. This has really helped me to visualise many different animals, and to understand their character and appreciate how beautifully designed they are.
In my early teens we moved to the UK, where I am now based. This never took away my passion for art nor my love of nature, even with my previous environment no longer there. I carried on developing my skills and finetuning them, and have learned so much by observing the seemingly unnoticeable aspects in nature that I have on my doorstep, which helped me grow in appreciation for the life around us.
When in school I really enjoyed art classes as I could experiment and expand my art with different mediums and styles. This opened my eyes to the world of incredible artists, and their perception of what they felt and observed. This led me to taking A level Art and Photography, where I had the opportunity to get outside my comfort zone and push my creativity further.
Moving forward I later began doing commissioned artwork and book illustrations. This is an opportunity I have thoroughly enjoyed. It has also helped me to develop my expertise further. I’m always learning new techniques which keeps me on the path of discovery in this wonderful world of art, which has played a huge part in who I am today.
